Girls on the Run® @ Atalaya
Are you interested in your girl participating in an after school program that focuses on physical activity and movement as an inspiration for self-confidence and developmental health?
Over a period of 10 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 5th grade can participate in an after school program like no other. Girls on the Run® (GOTR) teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. This national curriculum is taught by certified GOTR coaches and uses running to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. At the end of the 10-week season, the girls complete a 5k running event. For more information, visit: http://gotr-sf.org/
The season will begin mid-March and run through the end of May. Practices are two days per week from 3:15-4:45 pm (days to be determined based on interest). Cost for participation is approximately $50 and scholarships are available.
If you are interested in having your girl participate, please complete a brief informational survey and email it to Rachel Kullman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or drop it off in the PTA box at the front office.

Are you interested in serving as a volunteer?
To bring this program to Atalaya, we need adult volunteers to serve as coaches, alternate coaches and as other helpers (e.g., provide snacks). Coaches will be required to attend a one-day training session in early 2017.
No running experience is required for coaches or girls!
